Hardness
Hardness is one of the quality characteristics of silicon steel sheet. When modern automatic punching machines are used for sheet punching, the requirements for hardness are even more stringent, as too low a hardness is not conducive to the feeding operation of the automatic punching machine and tends to produce excessively long burrs, making assembly more difficult. In order to meet these requirements, the hardness of the silicon steel sheet must be higher than a certain hardness value. For example, the hardness of 50AI300 silicon steel sheet is usually not lower than the HR30T hardness value of 47. The hardness of a silicon steel sheet increases as the grade increases. Usually, the higher the grade of silicon steel sheet, the more silicon content is added and the higher the hardness is due to the solid solution strengthening effect of the alloy.
